Rebirth Society was founded in 2000 by FROOHAR TASHVIGHI (known to his fellows as just «Froohar») a recovered addict since 1986 who had a dream of being of maximum service to God and those who suffer from the dis-ease of addiction. After discharge from a social model rehabilitation Center in Los Angles (1986) he dedicated his life to serve his fellows.

He started several 12 step self help Farsi speaking groups in LA -Translated the AA BIG BOOK, NA BASIK TEXT & Founded ‘KANOON’ a recovery center for Iranians in LA.

In1994 after 26 years of absence returned to his native country (IRAN)

Participated as a key initiator in foundation of several 12 step programs in Iran- founded Rebirth society in 2000 – has written and Translated 15 key books And Hundreds of publications. Through scientific and Experiential hard work developed the philosophy and core bases for “abstinence oriented and faith based” detoxification and rehabilitation programs In Iran , Which resulted in wining the 2005 Vienna civil society award of United Nations. He is the founder initiator of chemical Dependency studies program in Iran.
